"at least you could have told us you
were running a contest somewhere else"
One method design contest holders use to 'maximize' design options is holding the same contest on several spec sites. As many sites offer a 'walk away' option (contest holders can abandon the contest without selecting, or paying, a winning designer) this often means that a lot of designers are entering their work to a contest without any chance of being awarded. This is against the TOS of some design contest sites, but still happens quite frequently. When the contest holder 'abandons' a contest, the host web site has still collected a listing fee, even though none of the participating designers have been paid.

I'm sorry not to have participated fully in the final stages of this contest. I'm very grateful to all designers who took part and appreciate the time involved.
Unfortunately, there wasn't a design that really conveyed the elements that I wanted and I didn't feel that there was one that I could work with to get what I was looking for. I'm sorry not to be able to pursue any of the designs on this occasion but I'll certainly keep eLogoContest in mind when I'm working on future projects.

It was pretty sad, you ran a same contest at another site. At least you could've told us, that you were running a contest somewhere else.

I must apologise for that as I really didn't appreciate that it would be a problem. I had no idea how many people would enter either contest and I assume that anyone can register on either site so I wouldn't have thought it was an issue. Ultimately, the logo that works would be the one chosen and there aren't any here that fit the bill so running another contest was irrelevant. A winner wouldn't have been selected from this site anyway
Anyway, that's how it happened and although it's a shame and I can completely understand the disappointment of designers who have spent time on entries, it's not something I can change now.
I'll certainly make it clear if I'm running more than one contest in future and I hope that my future projects will be more successful.

The buyer also held his contest on 99designs. $150 logo design contest. 126 entries.
They selected a winner on that site and also "appreciated" the designers' time there too.
I just want to say that I'm aware of how much time will have been spent, cumulatively, on the many designs that have been put forward and I'm truly appreciative of everyone's efforts.
I have other projects to work on in coming months and I'll certainly be posting them here when I hope to catch up with some of you again.
They never launched any further contests. On 99designs or elogocontest.com.
